The designers hooked up 11 mics to a real NASCAR speedster, and recorded everything from the squeal of the tires to the throttle and wind, all captured and ready to deliver in Dolby 5.1 audio. To top things off, for the first time in any NASCAR game, EA Sports was able to incorporate the authentic sounds from the world of NASCAR straight into the game. You can then use those plates to unlock some of the aforementioned tracks, and this feature will be now available in all modes of gameplay. Another mode that should please gamers is the Speed Zone, the point based mini-games that teach racing techniques while you earn Thunder plates. So if you want the authenticity of the oval track you've got it, but if you want to take a hot sports car out on the road and see what you've got on the street, you have that aspect as well, and it's a mix that should please both NASCAR and racing fans alike. The game features 9 new tracks (39 overall), including 13 road courses. Burn your fans by not signing, and watch as you become one of the tracks biggest bad guys. There will even be an autograph mini-game incorporated into the mix where the more autographs you're able to sign in a given amount of time, the more money you will be able to earn and the more popular your driver will become.
Fan loyalty will also be a big experience in terms of your driver's career as you will find yourself somewhere on the scale between hero and villain, and this will determine how well you work with teammates and how fast you earn grudges and alliances with other drivers. The experience as a driver/owner enables you to experience the most depth as you use money to buy new cars and trucks, then hire other drivers to race your trucks as you move up to the next class. Career mode is more than confrontations and street races, however, as you will be able to take one of two paths - either as a driver or a driver/owner - then work your way up from open-wheel cars and trucks to the Nextel series.
